The March edition of The Flourish, the Archdiocesan newspaper is available. Please collect your copy from the back of the church.
 
PPC Meeting highlights
A few highlights from the meeting- Stations of the Cross every Tuesday and Friday during Lent. Altar servers are hoping to organise fundraiser for new albs, more helpers needed for hall, readers etc see Fr Anthony if you think you could help. A Youth mass is being held every month. WDC are spending £800,000 on our school to upgrade to grade B. Keep reading the bulletin for further info on events, etc.
 
FFC (Fabric and Finance Committee) Meeting 
Just a quick reminder to the members of FFC of our first meeting of the year (2019) coming up on Monday 4th March 2019. Time 7.00pm
 
Lourdes—200 Club
The 200 Club is set up to help fund pilgrims to Lourdes and there are lots of spaces for new members--£1 per month for a chance to win—Remember, “you’ve got to be in to win it”.

Pope Francis – A Man of his Word            
Hope is the Universal message. With Pope Francis visiting the UAE, now is the perfect time to experience Pope Francis: A Man of His Word. Follow him as he travels the world speaking to those in need and delivering a message of hope. St Helen’s Church, 32 Langside Avenue, G41 2QS on 26th February at 7.15pm for prayers, followed by the film. Tickets cost £5 and are available from St Helen’s.  Alternatively, you can view the film on 25th February at 7.30pm at The Vue Cinema, Provan Road, G34 9DL. Lenten Reflection for Teachers and School Staff
A Lenten Reflection for Teachers and School Staff will take place on Wednesday 13th March in Saint Andrew’s Cathedral at 6.30pm. There will be a Reflection, Evening Prayer, Adoration and the opportunity for Confession. Refreshments will be provided.  
 
Mass of St Patrick 
The annual Mass for the Feast of St Patrick will take place in St Andrew’s Cathedral on Saturday 16th March at 11.00am.  Archbishop Philip Tartaglia will be the principal celebrant. All welcome. Please come early; you will be welcomed by an Irish piper, followed by music from St James the Great Ceilidh Band.  There will also be a Festival Family Day in Merchant Square from 12pm – 5pm.
 
Newman Association
How Can We Hope? -  Lessons from the Middle East. A talk by Father Timothy Radcliffe, OP (former master of the Dominican Order and outstanding communicator of the Catholic Faith)– Lecture Theatre 213, St Andrew’s Building, University of Glasgow,  20 Eldon Street, G3 6NH 6.30pm on Thursday 21st  March 2019 All welcome. Non-members: admission £3 - includes refreshments.
 
Concert
 ‘Seven Last Words from the Cross’ by James MacMillan, performed by Glasgow Chamber Choir and accompanied by string orchestra, in St Andrew’s Cathedral on Sunday 31st March 2019 from 3 – 4.30pm. The cantata sets the seven last sentences uttered by Christ on the cross, meditating on each to form a dramatic and emotional sequence. The MacMillan is paired with JS Bach’s Easter cantata ‘Christ lag in Todesbanden.’ Tickets are £14 for adults and £7 for students available at the door or online at https://glasgowchamberchoir.ticketlight.co.uk/
 
New Gift Aid Envelopes
Thanks to all Gift Aid members who use the Envelope and Direct Debit systems – Last year we received £4,361.69 in Gift Aid from the Government. If you are a tax payer and would like to join the Gift Aid scheme please see Fr Anthony for a form.
