Many congratulations to the parents and families of Leon Andrew Docherty and Freya Bauge who were baptised last Monday (12th March) and Friday (16th March) respectively. Welcome to our parish family.
New Gift Aid Envelopes for 2017/18
Please collect your new Gift Aid Envelopes from the back of the church. I sincerely thank everyone who has signed up for the Gift Aid Scheme, whither using the Envelopes or paying by Direct Debit. Last year we received £2,500 plus (£2,000 from small change donations) from the Inland Revenue. To join the scheme, you need to be a tax payer then we are allowed to claim back 20% of your contributions from taxman. If you would like to find out more see Fr Anthony.
Our parish community extend our sympathy and the support of our prayers to the family and friends of Peter Gerald Murphy (Stations Street, Renton) whose funeral Mass and committal took place on Thursday morning. May he rest in peace.
Cluster Holy Hour of Recollection26th March
Our parish St Martin of Tours will host this year’s Cluster Lenten event, Holy Hour of Recollection on 26th March 2018 at 7.00pm. It is expected that the celebration will be concluded with a Benediction. Fr Charles McElwee will preside over the liturgy of the day. Home baking would be very welcome.
Patient's Religious Declaration, which a person when admitted to hospital, or a relative/friend, should give to ward-staff to ensure they can see a Catholic Chaplain. This can also be achieved through a verbal-request to staff. This is necessary due to the way confidentiality rules are applied in most hospitals. Please see notice board or website for further details.
Rosary on the Coast
This is a UK wide initiative mirroring similar initiatives in other European countries. The aim is to surround the coastline of the UK at 3pm on 29th April and say a Rosary for the intercession of Our Lady for our homeland; for life, faith and peace. Our local coastal area is Levengrove Park and we are setting up a meeting point at the war memorial to join this initiative. There are sheets at the back of the church for anyone interested to sign up and we will organise car sharing to help people with transport. For more information see the website: or see Jennifer Gorman.
March Flourish is available at the back of the church.
Easter Raffle tickets are now on sale at the back of the church
