Offertory Collection: £607.00 & 2nd Collection: £227.00). Many thanks for your generosity to the parish and clergy. Highly appreciated. This weekend is Mission Sunday and our second collection is taken up in support of Missio Scotland.
Requiem Mass
--for the faithful departed in St Peter’s Cemetery Dalbeth, London Road, Glasgow; for all who are buried in the Local Cemeteries, or whose final committal was at Daldowie Crematorium on Sunday 5th November 2017 at 3.00pm. Car parking entry by the Good Shepherd gate. In the event of inclement weather, Mass will be offered in St Joseph’s Church Tollcross.

Mission Sunday
This weekend our parish will be holding the annual World Mission Sunday Appeal. This year, we are invited to reach out and help the people of Uganda. This year’s focus is on the work of Religious Sisters such as Sr. Jane Frances in Nsambya Babies Home. By helping to train the Sisters and to provide for the needs of the Babies Home, you are helping these women to show the love of God to those around them and in their care. Last year, 100% of all Mission Sunday donations were sent to the neediest of places. Please come prepared next week and give generously.
Halloween
Tickets are now on sale at the back of the church for Halloween Party Night 28th October in St Martins Church Hall 7pm.
Auditions for Parish Christmas Panto
Panto auditions will take place in the Hall on Sunday 29th October at 3pm. So - here’s your chance to take ‘centre stage’.
October Devotion 2017
Our October Devotion continues this week—Monday and Wednesday—at 7.0pm.
Mass of Remembrance (Month of Holy Souls)
--will be offered for all deceased parishioners of the past year on Thursday 2nd November at 7pm. November lists is available the porch. Please return lists to church (sacristy) or church house. The families and all parishioners are invited to the Hall for a light refreshment after the Mass.
Feast of St Martin of Tours the Patron Saint of our Parish.
The feast is going to be celebrated on the Friday 10th November 2017, (instead of Saturday 11th) to accommodate St Martin’s Primary School. It is to be preceded by nine-day Novena Prayer which starts on Thursday 2nd November. This prayer will be recited at morning Masses, (just after the concluding prayer, that is, before the final blessings)
The Summit Dates: 12th Nov / 10th Dec / 14th Jan / 11th Feb / 13th May / 10th June.
Calling all YOUNG PEOPLE! If you are in P7 - S6 then this invite is for you. Join the RCAG Youth Team for an afternoon of FUN FREINDSHIP, FAITH and MORE! This monthly event will give you the chance to learn more about our Catholic faith, make new friends, have some fun, eat good pizza, and celebrate Holy Mass. in Blessed John Don Scotus Church, Ballater Street, Gorbals, G5 0YT & will run from 2pm—5pm with Mass at 3.15pm. Any questions please get in touch with youth@rcag.org.uk. Do not forget to collect tour consent/registration form from your parish priest and bring it along with you on the day. (Alternatively, guardians of under 16’s can complete consent form on arrival and over 16’s can register on site.
Mary’s Meals
Mary’s Meals would want to thank all our parishioners for your generosity towards their last month’s fund raising and textile collection in our parish. Your contribution raised the most generous of £1,022.01 (£635 from the offertory collection; £220 from raffle tickets sold; and £167.01 from other monetary donations)
SVP Conference Lunch The SSVP Conference of St Martin's invites all our older parishioners to a Lunch at Ballagan Garden Centre on Wednesday the 22nd of November at 130 p.m. If you wish to go please append your name to the list at the back of the Church indicating whether you require transport and choice of meal. Thank You.
Newman Association (Glasgow Circle)
Newman Association: “What the Early can teach us”. A talk by Joe Fitzpatrick. The Ogilvie Centre, St Aloysius’ Church, Rose Street, Glasgow, G3 6RE at 7.30pm on Thursday 26th October 2017. All welcome. Non-members: admission £3 - includes refreshments.
Italian Mass
The Annual Mass for the members and friends and Scottish Italian Community will take place in St Andrew’s Cathedral on Thursday, 2nd November 2017 at 7pm. Archbishop Tartaglia will be the main celebrant. As in previous years, the girls of Notre Dame High School will provide the music. All welcome.
